305th day of 2016.
I put aside the detail drawing of the palace, hopefully, I have enough to go by. I re-read a few chapters back on what I had written few months ago. Very anxious to recall all the details I was attempted to plant in it.
As a warm up, I generate and modified a few names. Lastly, looking at my huge map, decided to erase the palace and redo it. -__-;;

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 48
304th day of 2016.
I figure it is time to think about the facade of the palace. It kind of help set the size, height, rhythm of the windows placement, then the columns and other details.

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 47
303rd day of 2016.
Closing to half a hundred... and I am not sure whether I could finish the design by the time the running number reach 3 digits.
Offices is another quite simple modular design achievable space. Only after I nearly finish the offices, I properly rezone the importance and flow of offices. I have too many offices and too many layers of protocols, and it needs to be in check.

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 45
301st day of 2016.
There is one larger courtyard within the private wing at the back. I made the rustic stone slab encasing a unhoned gold as the focal point on top of a pool of still water flush with the surrounding lawn, in an illusion of floating.

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 44
300th day of 2016.
Crawling over to the Grand Foyer, it is very symmetrical in layout at the front wing. I did one side and the other side would mirror the properties. I love symmetry design.
Need to reconsider whether Parlour and Conference room need fireplace...

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 42
298th day of 2016.
I went into detail the internal rooms of the Infinem Palace. I have done the Royal Dais of the Grand Hall before, now I have done the Dining Hall and the State Hall.
Dining Hall - Formal and Public, mainly for formal occasions. Roughly could fit up to 50 grand seating. Diplomatic and Entertaining features.
State Hall - Formal and Semi Public, mainly for discussing issues that require table. I imagine this space is used for the routine meeting between the monarch and the whole cabinet of ministers. Also, for the occasionally foreign diplomat dealings.

DIY - Pencil Case Add On
297th day of 2016.
This particular DIY had been swimming in my brain for quite some time. At least for 3 months... never had the motivation to sketch it... all I did ever since getting the idea is accumulating the materials. Today, I am quite inspired to just finish it up and get it done!
I bought the pencil case from Daiso. Actually, Daiso does sell the pencil case with elastic band, but I did not like it because of color choices and size. So, I figured it being a very simple upgrade, do it myself.
It is a very simple and very functional upgrade, beats me why it only occur recently!

DIY - Tissue Box 1
296th day of 2016.
I had been confront to a fact that, I have not been taking care of my car very well. *sighs*
Had been a place to buy two car accessories items, among one of them is a anti slip mat to place on the dash board.
I have a tissue placed in the glove box because it slides off the dash board, for one. Second, living in such hot country, I have the irrational fear that the plastic of the tissue would be melted. So, I plan to utilize the leftover materials again to make up a box.
Need to get one heavier and sturdy base since my leftover balsa wood are quite light. Not going to have the same mistake about weight again.

Acrylic - Vexillology 04
295th day of 2016.
I picked the thickest plastic sheet that I have, 0.05mm. Even though I am aware it is thick, but I didn't expect it took me more than 5 cuts to cut through the sheet.
Because my shapes are fairly straight, I used an awl to poke the holes of each points and then joint the dots. It is much easier that way.

Acrylic - Vexillology 03
294th day of 2016.
Based on the rough layout I did, I finalized the size of the flags. Down to create precise dimensions for cutting out stencils. I think I would not purposely cut out different width of stripes for the stripes on flags... yet. I am more to getting the custom shape stencils first.
I have bought 3 different sizes of plastic sheet, very interested to find out whether the various thickness makes any difference.

Acrylic - Vexillology 02
293rd day of 2016.
Planning for the layering of the flags. I have standardize 3 thicknesses, which I planned to use the modeling paste to build up the layers.
All of them shall have one base layer, then most of the accent colour would have another layer and the special symbols would soar the highest.

Acrylic - Vexillology 01
292nd day of 2016.
I am planning to do my first piece of acrylic painting with the simplest objects to draw, the flags. I drew the size roughly on some grid paper and see how to lay them out. Later I am planning to also make stencils for the shapes of the flags.

Fire Place and Chimneys
291st day of 2016.
I had made no headway on the services of the palace. (Why am I even in this situation anyway?)
Services like water and fire provide comfort and absolutely shows the technology thus grandeur of a certain place. Besides, it is also much easier to route the secret passages along all these services, since fundamentally, services share the same characteristicof secret passages. Remain Hidden.
This will be a very dry post of analysis table.
Grand Hall - Grand Fireplace, maybe ones that were embeded on ground.
Grand Stateroom - Grand tapestry Fireplace
HUGE Hall - Grand Fireplace
Halls, common room - Big Fire Place
Private rooms - standard Fireplace (grandeur depending on the ranking level)
No Fireplace at:
Archive, toilets, offices, storerooms, Auditorium,
Fireplace to be group by Size, Height, Width, Material, Grandeur, Designs.

Testing out Ceramic Stucco and Light Modeling Paste
290th day of 2016.
Playing around with the 2 acrylic mediums I bought. Ceramic Stucco is a sandy texture, dries very hard in a relatively nice wait of 2 to 4 hours. Light Modeling Paste takes many times as long, after around 6 hours, the 'peaks' of the paste is still rather pliable, will have to check its solidness after a day and so on.
I made a hilarious mistake to use a brush to apply these thick mediums. Now that particular brush is clogged with the Ceramic Stucco. lol. I have to dig out the palette knife to apply them, the correct tool to use.

Acrylic Medium Research
289th day of 2016.
Involving in acrylic art is like throwing yourself in a money pit. Looking at the many mediums, I am half way regretful with the decision. Of course acrylic art do not 'need' all various mediums to create art, unfortunately, that is the reason why I plunge into the acrylic money pit. The various additional accessories to create very unique artwork.
Since the artshop I went to mostly carry Liquitex products, so I spent this whole day to figure out the differences of the mediums. Trying to group them in an order that makes sense and buy the most versatile ones according to my needs.
Some of them are not clear in the website... thinking to add the hardness when the paint dries.

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 41
288th day of 2016.
I keep looking at the Ground Floor to zone the basement services. There are 4 main categories, Kitchen where all food related, clothing, storage of all kinds and offices + bedrooms for higher rank servants / personal assistants.
Not yet decided where to put the Kitchen or should there be one big and one smaller kitchen? The crucial question is whether do I want to do accurate chimney alignment.

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 40
287th day of 2016.
I have organized the top most floor for now. The back portion being the private quarters for Royal family.
Left wing, a higher and bigger class of Guest Stateroom. Right wing are bed chambers for the higher rank officers.
I think I am going to start the Basement level, where all the services is located. Including some servant quarters.

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 39
286th day of 2016.
Had very little time, but managed to squeeze in a few items to fill a bit more on the Palace's first floor. I align the future stairwells and flanked the Grand library with separated study rooms. No change over the two ends.
Need to figure out what space is suitable to put right above Grand Hall. I am thinking about more living/sitting/drawing rooms each has its own theme according to metal type or gem stone type. Purely for the function of displaying grandeur. Not liking the idea of having bedroom or eating room right above the Grand Hall. Nor even the noisy game rooms either.
As for the back portion, it is mostly halls and living spaces, divided by gender and age. In terms of activities, it is very similar to the Ground Floor. To make some differences, I expanded the zoning mixing Private/Public and Formal/Informal. 8 different levels of zoning.

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 38
285th day of 2016.
I changed the layout of the Ground Floor front portion a bit. Added way lot more rooms at the back. I multi task during work time, thinking about all various rooms luxurious royalties would need. The standard drawing room, sitting room, lounge, parlor, game room to the least likely specific ones, chess room, piano room, tea room... really tempted to get an embroidery room. lol.
After that, I touched a bit on the upper floors. The left side is easily decided to be the Diplomatic Guest Wings, center to be Grand Library and more private meetings that require table.Left side would be the Monarch private office with the high rank officer neighbouring it.

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 37
284th day of 2016.
It is surprisingly painstaking to arrange the spaces for my Infinem Palace. Even I already list out all the spaces, it still took me quite a long time to settle on their position. Ground Floor is by far the most established floor I have... and yet it already took this long. I wonder how long it will take for me to fill up the upper floors.
The official portion of the palace where all the state rooms, halls, conferences, offices and libraries were in place. I still haven't finish the entertaining back portion. After completing the offices layout, I kinda have a change of mind to move many of the offices to the other side since I do have the space...

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 35
282nd day of 2016.
The Infinem City started to growing towards the left side. I maintained the mirror symmetrical arrangement along the main central street, a bit of varied difference after that. From the look of it, the left side is more towards the artistic scholar zone and the right side is the more physical zone.

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 34
279th day of 2016.
Finally, the lower ring joins with the upper ring of the Infinem City. Standing further away from the paper, I am quite impressed with myself, until...
I realized that again, I am out of proportion. *smacks head*
My shop lots is bigger than my palace. *sighs*
I guess, I have to split the shop lots into smaller pieces... in which case which would make the whole plans look even more busy.
Either that, or I enlarge the whole palace and the mansions.
Either way, I think I shall take a break from this enormous project and go back to basics a bit. The more I fill up the city, the more I think that it would be beneficial to come out with some standard modular lots shapes for various type of building, in plan.

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 33
278th day of 2016.
Continue on to the epic Infinem City. I expanded to the right side, where more things are added. I added a few more prestigious estate or mansion there.
There will be a rather large open space right in front of the City Gate, where I imagine the visitor of the city would take time to stall around for official registration, check up and what not. Which means, there will be some sort of government custom and or security check close to the City Gate.

Wheistadeur - Imperial Infinem 32
277th day of 2016.
Okay, I kinda redo the overlays interms of how I convert from the sketch dimension into the grid. For great ease of conversion, I made it much bigger compare to the last one. Luckily the 5mm = 1 square fits in this scale.
I have already use technical pen to draw out the main shape. So far, the Ground Floor is the most finalized. I leave out many walls from the upper floors, will be filling it up with pencil and modify as needed.

Art Supplies plus
276th day of 2016.
My birthday falls on September and throughout this month, I had been buying up art supplies. I took the plunge and get a set of acylic paints, which I already tested out many days ago. Today, although being in October, I picked up the last portion of acrylic mediums and conclude the haul~
Other than acrylic supplies, I have also bought a few craft supplies and some miscellaneous items.

275th day of 2016.
I picked a few pieces of tracing paper and a grid paper, binded them with a split pin, so the tracing paper could be move around when not needed to be overlaid. I am trying to produce a more accurate plan to connect the different floor's vertical and ultimately construct the secret passages!
