Inkscape

352nd day of 2021.

I am not really sure what to make out of this. This is a vector based programme, doesn't speak to me intuitively.

Paint 3D 2

348th day of 2021.

Pretty basic painting tools, control still fine.
It has some amazing 3D support and AR support, which is fun.
Not really up to what I wish in terms of painting.

Paint 3D 1

347th day of 2021.

This had been in my surface pro for a while, first time trying it out to see whether it can serve to be art journal.

Journalist - Record

146th day of 2021.

Trying out Journalist's built in record feature, sketching a simple mannequin.
Not many options to choose, pretty straightforward.

Journalist - Pen

134th day of 2021.

This is a traditional inking pen tool always found on other painting program. Oddly, it seemed to have limited colours. Will take time to play around.

Journalist - Pencil

133rd day of 2021.

Pencil tool as the name suggest, is more coarse like pencil marks. This application can adjust pen pressure of digital pen, which is nice.

Journalist - Ballpoint

132nd day of 2021.

Journalist is another app, which seemed to have more painting features compared to Microsoft Journal. Also on vector base, having just enough variety of dry media tools. Interestingly, they also have a record function built in.

Microsoft Journal

131st day of 2021.

Was trying out Journal applications. Microsoft Journal seemed to be a pretty simple app, with a pretty unique tagging system. It is mostly based on vector line, rather limited in terms of paint.

Autodesk Sketchbook - 3 Point Perspective

129th day of 2021.

And here is 3 point perspective, and as I suspect from playing with 2 point, the 'problem' seemed to be more obvious as all these lines overlapping each other. The 'problem' is when drawing to snap on these overlapping lines, it is difficult for user to know which line the brush tip is snapping to. This may be able to adapt through use, I guess.

Autodesk Sketchbook - 2 Point Perspective

128th day of 2021.

Much like the symmetry for 2 points, it allowed adjustable point position.

Autodesk Sketchbook - 1 Point Perspective

127th day of 2021.

For my profession, this Perspective guide really made me thrilled.

Autodesk Sketchbook - Pastel

126th day of 2021.

A pretty straightforward and yet rather expansive set for a specific media.

Wednesday, May 5, 2021

Autodesk Sketchbook - Artist

125th day of 2021.

Compare to Designer, Artist set seemed to have more wet media.

Autodesk Sketchbook - Designer

123rd day of 2021.

Basically encompassing various media that a typical designer would use.

Autodesk Sketchbook - Shape

122nd day of 2021.

There are some interesting brush pattern in this category, the more define one may be more limited in its use. But some seemed to be a rather convenient way to quickly layout certain shapes and background.

Autodesk Sketchbook - Hatch

121st day of 2021.

A lot of preset hatching pattern, some haven't seen before, which is interesting.

Autodesk Sketchbook - Synthetic

120th day of 2021.

I wonder what Synthetic means in this case. The closest I can link to are those rubbery shaped brush that is develop for acrylic paint.

Autodesk Sketchbook - Copic

119th day of 2021.

I am pretty surprise they just name straight up the marker as Copic. Admittedly, Copic is a very popular marker brand due to its extensive range of marker products.

Autodesk Sketchbook - Symmetry

118th day of 2021.

The fun part of some tools that I just could not wait to try out. It allows the usual x and Y axis adjustable position symmetry line, then they have this multiple radial axis line, which is so convenient for art like mandala.

Autodesk Sketchbook - Texture

117th day of 2021.

It comes with groups of preset brush or media settings. Categorized either by 'profession' or by media itself.
