One of the natural feature of Ingwar is the abundance of volcanoes. Makes a very strong local identity of challenge typology to held at Volcanoes, that are either:

Inactive -  terrain challenge with unstable ground and unknown magma or steam traps.

Active - literal life and dead match.

Ingwar has a very competitive culture, having many events and festives to organize various challenges, and many come with prize.

Any person of wealth and status could organize such event. Of course, the most prestige ones were held by Royals, Nobles and Heroes. 

Shemey Maze is one of the prominent, dangerous and difficult challenge that have very high life risk. Located in remote free land where the only times it had been use is for the purpose of challenges.

There is a team of engineers or technician that maintain the traps before the events begin. Each personnel was in charge in one particular section, types & amount of traps were drawn randomly right before the event. They were not able to meet each other before the random pick until after the challenges to avoid fraud.
