I have some vague memory that I had attempted and posted some sort of negative painting on here... but this is another attempt.

Two different layer method. I guess it would look much nicer if I did not emphasize the outline.

 I am thinking about collecting a set of different line thickness pens from various brands. That would be fun.

I tend to buy pens of line thickness in either odd or even sizes. For Zig, I chose to get the thickness of 1, 3 and 5.

Actually, I was tidying some graphite and charcoal supplies. As I am sharpening some of the broken leads, I kinda doodle on a paper to sharpen some of the tips as charcoal lead is more difficult to sharpen with sharpener.

Mini Canvas Project 04

So far I have completed what I can at this point, need to get some varnish before continuing.

 Green is the only color I waited the gel medium to dry completely before painting on. Effect quite different.
Gel medium dry rather quickly than I expected even with some tries before.

Mini Canvas Project 03

 Played with different ratios of pigment : medium, and also mix with or paint after procedure.

Liquitex Basics Medium

168th day of 2017.

I have bought some gel mediums, Gloss Heavy Gel and Matte Gel.
First to see the sheen, and next to feel the viscosity of heavy and non heavy.

The ratio of medium : pigment, is around 8 : 2, so the medium does weakened the pigment. Can't feel much difference between gel and heavy gel, may need to play more.

Liquitex Basics are quite matte, am thinking of getting their Basic Matte to compare the matte-ness. Liquitex also has ultra matte and SUPER heavy gel, very interested to find out their differences.

Brown, Purple~Blue, Red.
Generally shows brushstrokes.

Acrylic Blending 2

165th day of 2017.

Liquitex Basics, Green and Orange~Yellow blend.
Green shows brushstrokes, dark green had a much liquid-y texture.
Yellow's coverage is great.

Green has much less water in it, as I dab the brush in tissue before pulling the paint.
Orange~Yellow had a much successful blend with tiny bit of water.

I think I underestimate blending acrylic paint, lol. This is the liquitex basics.

There, the centre part, a gaping hole of insufficient paint, I guess. I manage to get grey... but not smooth enough...

 

Reasons~
Not wet enough. 
Not enough paint.

 What is the difference between Sakura Micron's Graphic 1 and Micron 0.8?

I don't have the 0.8 to compare, I just guess the line weight should not be the same.

Zig Calligraphy Pen

I like the cap better, it is transparent to view the inside, smart.
Transparent cap is by no means new invention, but seldom seen in technical pens where it has various sizes. I guess, they thought the big print on the pen barrel and the mini print on its cap ends is enough?

Somehow, I may not always relate the numbers with its actual size... so I do appreciate the transparent cap.
   

Faraway Artshop visit

I am in desperate low stock of materials to do my course, with a rather big submission next week, I need to get the materials and do it during the weekend.

Apart from the various card and boards I bought purely for coursework, with a visit to a far artshop I seldom visit, definitely gonna pick up some more moral improving art stuff.

I am delighted to pick up the 5.6mm clutch pencil to my collection and two rush roller for my other brushes. The 5.6mm clutch pencil is... awesome.
